We aren't sure what this stone is - we just know we love it and we wish we had more! It is an interesting mix of grittiness and incredible sparkle with the crystal formations.
We decided to punch this one up a bit with an unexpected introduction of dramatic color pops. Graffiti meets the runway in Cassian.
I love making these pieces for you!
I have been making jewelry since 1995 and each step along the way has helped me to evolve and become the artist I am today.
Each piece of Kind Rocks Jewelry begins with a touch.
I hand select every crystal and stone that I use in my designs from vendors I have been doing business with for years.
The selection process begins with something that catches my eye. I generally go on the hunt with an open mind as to what I will find. I then hold it up to my neck, my stomach, my wrist or my hand to see what I can do with it. I probably look a little crazy. Ok, maybe a lot crazy…
Once I get them back to my studio, I decide what they really will become. The direction of the stone. What type of cord, chain, leather, or recycled material will be used with it. I decide on colors and paint the pieces. The final step before putting them on the website is sealing them with a non-toxic sealer so they are comfortable against the skin.
I have been wearing my pieces for years. Without even knowing which crystal does what, I noticed that I just feel good when I wear these. It makes people around me feel good. They make people smile and are conversation starters.
The jewelry is set in a proprietary material that I field tested for over a year to check its durability. While this material can break if it is hit very hard, chances are good that the crystal or stone would break first. I can repair some breaks in my material for a fee if something does happen. I cannot fix mother nature.
These pieces are meant to be worn and absolutely enjoyed, but do be mindful when you are wearing them (especially when hugging – depending on it’s size, bending over, and lifting/holding items close to your body).
Handle the crystals with care. These are truly mother nature’s artwork. I am thrilled to be able to enhance them and turn these gems into something unique and wearable. No two pieces are the same by the very nature of the material.
If there is a stone that you would like to see, please don’t hesitate to message me and let me know.
Care and Cleaning:
- Stones can be rinsed in water to cleanse them – just don’t let them sit in water.
- I recommend a soft cloth for cleaning the actual necklaces. Sterling cloths work great on the sterling silver – typically used in the clasp.
